The four Ascendants are still investigating the market, looking for a ghost. They didn’t see me, and I intend to keep it that way. A Gunner approaches my location. When he’s close enough, I Step into him. As I move his Shade out of his body, I can feel him panic, trying to hold on to his body without success. No longer in control, he watches me raise his weapon and shoot his Brawler comrade. |

The Brawler falls to the ground, lifeless. I return my Shade to my own body, still hidden. The Gunner regains consciousness, dizzy. "Alfred, what is wrong with you!? You shot Hubert!" "I—I didn’t! I swear! It wasn’t me, I was possessed by a devil!" "I knew it! There's a Quaestor hiding somewhere! Find them and protect the hideout!" |

The Ascendants search for me in the market, jabbing at every possible bush and hiding spot. I evade them easily by Peeking, then follow their Shades. I hear one reciting a prayer, demanding protection from me. Another one is shaking as he scans his surroundings. The one that is the most terrified is the Rusher. He’s trying to maintain his composure, but I can see the fear in his eyes. His weapon is drawn, ready to attack. "Watch your back! She could be anywhere. And check behind those crates over there!" He can bark orders all day long, but they won’t find me until I want them too. Now, how should I get rid of these three Ascendants? |
