Still invisible, I sneak over to an Ascendant. He doesn't hear me approach, nor does he notice when I unshroud myself and punch him in the back. He barely has time to turn around before I land another hit, feeling the bones of his ribs break under my fist. |

He falls to the ground, unconscious. I turn to the other two. Both are running toward me, ready to avenge their fallen comrade. |

I can see the hideout just beyond the remaining Ascendants. Vincent will be there. I'm so close to exacting my vengeance. Only two more to go. The Rusher hits the ground with his electric spear. "Stay close to me! We can take down one cowardly Quaestor." "I—I don’t want them to steal my mind. I don’t want to be a puppet!" Even though there are only two of them, I must be careful. They’re looking around, backs against each other. The Gunner is shaking and the Rusher is agitated. I’m sure they want to be anywhere else but here right now. Would approaching them stealthily be best? Or should I keep my distance then perform a Stepping attack? |
