The Rusher looks at me, his eyes burning with rage. I smile as I Shroud myself and disappear. While invisible, I hide in a corner. I create a small rock of Am in my hand and throw it, creating a Ripple in the air. It gets the Rusher’s attention, but it’s clear he’s wary of inspecting the area where the Ripple fell. I throw another one, further away. The Rusher takes a few Steps, still hesitant to explore any further. |
“Show yourself, coward!” “As you wish.” Suddenly, I’m right behind him, his Shade in my hands as I perform a Takedown. The Rusher tries to keep his Shade in his body; he’s terrified and I can feel it. I feel him resisting, fighting, urging his mind to stay whole, but nothing works. He falls to the ground, unconscious. Finally, there’s no one else to stop me from entering the hideout. |

Finally, there are no Ascendants left in the market. They’re all incapacitated, or worse. I would have loved for Reika to see me defeat them. Maybe she would have said something along the lines of “You’ve grown so much”, or perhaps even “I’m proud of you, Haroona”—Well, a girl can dream. I enter the hideout and, I have to admit, I am less than impressed. First of all, Vincent isn't here. I almost expected him to be waiting for me, sitting in a chair, plotting evil schemes...but he’s not. Second, the house is in total disarray. The furniture has been pushed out of the way and papers cover the floor. |
They left behind some broken armor and a helmet made of metal rings and lightbulbs. What kind of inventions were they building here? These things look so… bizarre to me. I pick a letter up from the ground. Most of it is unreadable due to some spilled ink, but I decipher the following passage: “[…] An eye out for the Sahin Artifact […] not touch Matos’ tech… it is volatile and experimental […]” I examine the abandoned armor. I hope to never cross someone donning this equipment. It looks so violent. I may have missed Vincent, but I know someone who may have an idea of his whereabouts. Avi. With the right amount of coins, he can be trusted. Vincent is out there somewhere and sooner or later, I will find him and exact my revenge. |
