The Rusher is in front of me, gripping his weapon, rage burning in his eyes. I stand my ground, ready to fight. He lets out a battle cry as he runs towards me. I wait until his weapon almost reaches me then Dodge away. I turn and land a heavy blow on his back. The Rusher falls, struggling to breathe while spitting out blood. |
Despite his pain and broken bones, he gets up again and turns to strike. I punch him once more and he falls again, his body shaking with weakness. We repeat the same dance again and again until he stops getting up. Until he’s defeated. Finally, there’s no one to stop me from entering the hideout. |

Finally, there are no Ascendants left in the market. They’re all incapacitated, or worse. I would have loved for Reika to see me defeat them. Maybe she would have said something along the lines of “You’ve grown so much”, or perhaps even “I’m proud of you, Haroona”—Well, a girl can dream. I enter the hideout and, I have to admit, I am less than impressed. First of all, Vincent isn't here. I almost expected him to be waiting for me, sitting in a chair, plotting evil schemes...but he’s not. Second, the house is in total disarray. The furniture has been pushed out of the way and papers cover the floor. |
They left behind some broken armor and a helmet made of metal rings and lightbulbs. What kind of inventions were they building here? These things look so… bizarre to me. I pick a letter up from the ground. Most of it is unreadable due to some spilled ink, but I decipher the following passage: “[…] An eye out for the Sahin Artifact […] not touch Matos’ tech… it is volatile and experimental […]” I examine the abandoned armor. I hope to never cross someone donning this equipment. It looks so violent. I may have missed Vincent, but I know someone who may have an idea of his whereabouts. Avi. With the right amount of coins, he can be trusted. Vincent is out there somewhere and sooner or later, I will find him and exact my revenge. |
